Finally Leap Year

It's my birthday and I am so thankful and blessed to have made it to another year... which makes me 20! I still can't believe it, I thought I'd be a teen forever. But I'm definitely not complaining.

I'm going to be going out with the fam today and I can't wait. Spending time with them is something I took for granted while away at college... but now, I don't think I mind as much. :)

I'm glad to have made it this far, healthy and happy. I'm excited to reach this milestone--and the many that will follow--because the older I get, the more content I am with myself. And contentment tends to go hand in hand with wisdom and maturity. After all, wisdom and maturity (and a good amount of confidence) are probably the best accessories you can get.

Speaking of accessories, I'm been pretty slack with my outfits, mostly because I don't have many places to be. But that will no longer be an excuse! With a bit of birthday cash, an up coming job, and plans to head back to school in the summer (full time!), I need to get back into the gear of things.

If all goes well, I'll buy a couple of investments and staples, but nothing too much. So long as I'm in school, I'm ballin' on a budget.

Simplistic

Burgundy

I found this set on polyvore and decided to post it because it isn't my normal, go-to outfit... (sans the glasses) and I love it. It's clean and simple, yet still makes a statement. That's pretty much the summation of my style.

Inspirations

I'm at a debate. I'm unsure. Sort of at a couple of crossroads at the moment. Am I talking about college decisions? Career choices? Close.

Actually, I'm talking about my personal style. I've loved looking fashionable for as long as a can remember, but instead of following the paths of the fashion obsessed, I've tried to maintain the balance between fashionable and reality. Though I love strong shoulders, avant garde, and spiky loubou's as much as the next girl, I do realized that these fashions sometimes come across as man repellant to the opposite sex.

Before someone starts of shooting off that I'm anti-individuality or something, let me just say that if I expect my man to avoid mandals and cut-off's like the plague, then it's only fair to give in a little as well. That said, I think most runway trends can be translated into fun and normalized everyday wear.

But wow, can I ever ramble. Back to what I was saying, things that are a staple in my closet are blazers, scarves and earrings (specifically studs). For now, I think I'm somewhere in between girly and retro. I love to look polished, but I also love adding a little quirky-ness to my outfits, hence the retro. Here area few inspirations via the gracious Google Images.  I think my style, as of current, is a patchwork of theses ladies...
